Frequently Asked Questions
What material are the trays made from?
Our drip trays are fabricated from 4.5mm PVC Grey sheet. PVC is the ideal material for trays because it bends cleanly at controlled temperatures, solvent welds at the corners for watertight joints, and is highly resistant to moisture, chemicals, and UV exposure. The grey colour hides scuffs and marks in working environments.
What is the lead time?
Fabricated trays are made to order. Typical lead time is 3–5 business days from order confirmation, depending on quantity and current workshop load. Rush orders may be available — mention it in your quote request notes.
Is there a minimum order?
No minimum order quantity — we fabricate from a single tray upwards. However, unit cost decreases with quantity because of more efficient material nesting (fitting more blanks per sheet wastes less material).
Can I get custom sizes?
Absolutely. Every tray is cut and bent to your exact dimensions. The calculator handles any size that fits within a 2440×1220mm PVC sheet (accounting for wall height and underlip). For very large trays, contact us to discuss multi-piece fabrication.
What affects the price?
The main pricing factors are: (1) blank size — larger blanks fit fewer per sheet, increasing material cost per tray; (2) quantity — more trays nest more efficiently; (3) wall height — taller walls mean bigger blanks; (4) underlip depth — adds to blank size but provides a sturdier reinforced edge. Fabrication time (cutting, bending, solvent welding) scales linearly with quantity.
What are common uses for PVC drip trays?
PVC drip trays are used across many industries: veterinary clinics and animal hospitals (cage drip trays), wildlife rehabilitation centres, pet boarding facilities, food preparation areas, workshop drip containment, HVAC condensate trays, and battery containment trays. See our veterinary and animal care applications page for more detail on tray use in animal care settings.
