Wall Protection for Wet Environments

Veterinary treatment rooms, animal wash bays, grooming parlours, and kennel cleaning stations are constantly exposed to water, disinfectants, and biological waste. Painted walls and plasterboard deteriorate quickly in these conditions. PVC splash guards mounted behind sinks, wash tables, and along wet area walls provide a durable, waterproof barrier that protects building surfaces and dramatically simplifies cleaning.

Unlike tiled splashbacks, PVC panels have no grout lines where bacteria and mould accumulate. They can be removed for deep cleaning behind the panel, and replaced individually if damaged, without disturbing adjacent surfaces.

Treatment Room Splashbacks

Vet clinics typically install splash guards behind examination sinks, surgical prep areas, and instrument wash stations. We supply flat PVC panels or bent-edge splash guards with a 20mm to 50mm return edge along the top and sides for a finished look and to prevent water running behind the panel. Standard thickness is 4.5mm rigid PVC in white or grey.

Animal Wash Bays and Grooming Stations

Wash bays and grooming stations generate heavy splash and overspray. Full-height PVC wall linings (floor to 1200mm or higher) protect walls from water damage and make the entire bay easy to hose down. Panels can be sealed at joins with silicone or overlapped behind trim strips for a waterproof installation. Corner sections can be hot-line bent from a single panel to eliminate joins in high-splash areas.

Kennel Wash-Down Areas

Kennel block wash areas see daily pressure washing. PVC wall linings withstand repeated pressure washing without degradation, unlike painted masonry or rendered surfaces that crack and flake over time. We can supply panels with pre-drilled mounting holes and edge returns for quick installation by your maintenance team.

Fabrication Options

We supply splash guards as flat cut-to-size panels or with bent return edges for a finished installation. Our fabrication services include hot-line bending for return edges and corner sections, CNC routing for cutouts around pipes and fittings, and drilling for mounting screws. All edges are clean-cut with no burrs or sharp spots.

Splash Guards for Veterinary Clinics & Animal Wash Stations FAQ

What thickness PVC is best for splash guards?
4.5mm rigid PVC is the standard choice for splash guards. It is rigid enough to stay flat on the wall and thick enough to be durable, while still being easy to cut and bend.
Can splash guards be bent to wrap around corners?
Yes. We hot-line bend PVC to create corner sections from a single panel, eliminating joins where water can penetrate.
How are splash guards mounted?
Panels are typically screw-fixed through pre-drilled holes, with silicone sealant along the bottom edge to prevent water running behind. We can pre-drill to your mounting pattern.
Will PVC discolour from disinfectants?
No. Rigid PVC is chemically resistant to all common veterinary disinfectants, bleach solutions, and enzymatic cleaners. Grey PVC is particularly good at hiding any surface marks.
