Durable Panels for Aviaries and Wildlife Enclosures

Flight aviaries, bat houses, bird rehabilitation enclosures, and wildlife housing need wall and partition panels that handle constant moisture, daily hosing, and exposure to animal waste without degrading. Rigid PVC is ideal: it absorbs zero moisture, resists all common disinfectants, and has a smooth surface that cleans with a hose or pressure washer. Unlike timber, it will not rot, warp, or harbour bacteria.

We supply PVC panels up to 2440 x 1220mm in standard stock (or 3000 x 1500mm in grey) and cut them to your enclosure layout. Panels can be drilled with ventilation patterns, bent into L-shaped or U-shaped sections, and solvent-cemented to form watertight joints.

Flight Aviaries

Flight aviaries for bird rehabilitation need solid lower walls to prevent stress from ground-level activity, with open mesh above for flight space and airflow. PVC panels make excellent lower wall linings, typically 600mm to 1200mm high. They protect the structure from moisture and waste accumulation at ground level where cleaning is most intensive, and provide a solid visual barrier that reduces stress for recovering birds.

Bat Houses and Roosting Enclosures

Bat rehabilitation enclosures and roosting houses benefit from PVC-lined walls and floors. Bat guano is acidic and corrosive to most building materials, but PVC is chemically inert and unaffected. Floor panels can be sloped to drainage points, and wall panels wipe clean daily. We also supply PVC dripbox trays that sit beneath roosting areas to catch waste and simplify cleaning.

Reptile and Small Animal Enclosures

PVC panels are widely used for reptile vivarium linings, small mammal enclosures, and quarantine housing. The smooth, non-porous surface prevents parasites from embedding and makes biosecurity cleaning straightforward. For enclosures requiring humidity control, PVC's zero moisture absorption is a significant advantage over timber or MDF alternatives.

Panel Fabrication Options

We offer flat cut-to-size panels or fully fabricated enclosure components. Our fabrication services include CNC routing for ventilation patterns, hot-line bending for corner sections, drilling for mounting hardware, and solvent welding for watertight assemblies. For large enclosure builds, we can work from your drawings to optimise panel layouts and reduce material waste.

Material Recommendations

Most aviary and enclosure projects use 4.5mm rigid PVC in grey. Grey hides marks and staining from daily use and looks professional in visitor-facing facilities. For enclosures requiring translucency or viewing windows, we also stock clear acrylic and polycarbonate sheets that can be cut to size and integrated into PVC panel frames.

Cage & Aviary Panels for Bird Rescue and Wildlife Rehab FAQ

What size PVC panels can you supply for aviaries?
Standard stock sheets are 2440 x 1220mm. Grey PVC is also available in 3000 x 1500mm. We cut to any dimension within those sheet sizes.
Can you drill ventilation holes in the panels?
Yes. We CNC-rout ventilation slot patterns or drill circular holes in any layout you specify. Common patterns include rows of 10mm holes at 50mm spacing.
Is PVC safe for birds and bats?
Yes. Rigid PVC is non-toxic, does not off-gas at ambient temperatures, and is widely used in food-grade and medical applications. It is safe for direct animal contact.
Can panels be bent to form corners?
Yes. We hot-line bend PVC to form L-shaped and U-shaped sections, eliminating the need for corner joins in many enclosure designs.
