Clear Acrylic Furniture Made to Size

Clear acrylic furniture takes up space without filling the room. A waterfall coffee table or a slim side table lets the rug and floor show through, which makes small living rooms and apartments feel bigger. Perspex Online makes tables, consoles, benches and plinths from thick cast acrylic sheet , heat-bent into a single seamless piece wherever we can, so there are no visible joints or fixings.

Waterfall Tables

The waterfall shape is one long sheet bent down at each end to form the legs. Because the top and legs are the same piece, the table is very strong for its weight and the bends catch the light beautifully. Coffee tables are typically 900 to 1200mm long, 450 to 600mm deep and 380 to 450mm high. Side tables and bedside tables are usually 400 to 500mm square and 500 to 600mm high, and can be made as a C shape that slides over the end of a sofa.

How Thick Should the Acrylic Be?

Thickness is what makes acrylic furniture feel solid. We recommend 12mm for side tables and small benches, 15mm to 20mm for coffee tables, and 20mm or more for consoles and anything people may sit on. Thick acrylic also shows a deep, glassy edge, which we machine and polish to a clear finish.

Living with Acrylic Furniture

Acrylic is around half the weight of glass and far tougher, so it is safer around children and pets. It is softer than glass, though, so use coasters, avoid dragging ceramics across the top, and clean with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Light surface scratches can be polished out. Keep hot pans and candles off the surface, as acrylic softens with heat.

Tinted, Frosted and Coloured Options

Clear is the classic, but tinted acrylic in smoky grey or bronze gives a softer look, and frosted acrylic hides fingerprints. For a glass-top replacement on an existing frame, see plastic tabletops , and for wall shelving see acrylic shelves .

Acrylic Coffee Tables, Side Tables & Furniture FAQ

How thick should an acrylic coffee table be?
15mm to 20mm for most coffee tables. Side tables can be 12mm, and consoles or benches 20mm or more.
Does acrylic furniture scratch?
Acrylic is softer than glass, so use coasters and a soft cloth. Light scratches can be polished out.
Is an acrylic table strong enough?
Yes. A waterfall table is bent from one piece, so it has no weak joints, and thick acrylic carries normal household loads easily.
Can you make a custom size?
Every piece is made to order, so send us the size and shape you need for a quote.
