Custom Acrylic Display Stands, Risers and Plinths

An acrylic stand lifts a product off the counter and into the customer's eye line without adding visual clutter. Whether you need a single clear plinth for a hero product, a set of acrylic risers to build height in a window display, or a run of matching display stands for every store in a chain, Perspex Online cuts, bends and bonds acrylic to your drawing and ships Australia-wide from the Gold Coast.

This page covers freestanding display stands, block risers, cube risers and plinths. If you are after stepped, tiered risers that sit on existing shelving, see our guide to acrylic shelf risers, which covers that format in detail.

Types of Acrylic Display Stands

Solid block risers are cut from thick cast acrylic, typically 20mm or more, or laminated from several layers, and polished on every face. They read as a solid piece of glass on the counter and suit jewellery, watches, fragrance and small premium goods.

Hollow cube risers and plinths are fabricated from five panels bonded together, open on the base. They give a larger footprint and more height for the weight, and they can be nested for storage between campaigns. Plinths for galleries, events and showrooms are usually built this way, in clear, opal, or black and white Perspex Spectrum colours.

Bent stands are formed from a single flat sheet heated along a line: L-shaped easels for books and tablets, U-shaped bridges that raise one product over another, and angled holders for brochures, menus and phones. Line bending keeps the stand to one piece with no glued joints. Ready-made examples in our range include the sunglass stand and the recipe book holder.

Rod and tube stands use clear acrylic rod or clear acrylic tube as posts or pedestals to float a panel or product above a base, a popular choice for awards, collectibles and floating shelf displays.

Choosing Thickness and Finish

For bent stands carrying light items such as cards, brochures and phones, 3mm to 4.5mm acrylic sheet is usually enough. Plinth and cube walls are commonly 5mm to 6mm for small sizes and 8mm to 10mm for larger plinths or anything that will be leaned on. Heavier products, wider spans and stands that see constant handling need thicker sheet, so tell us what will sit on the stand and we will recommend a thickness. We do not quote load ratings for fabricated stands, because the result depends on design and use, but we will always size on the safe side.

Clear acrylic keeps the focus on the product. Opal and frosted finishes such as Perspex Frost diffuse light and hide fingerprints, and they look excellent with an LED strip underneath. Coloured and mirrored stands in acrylic mirror sheet can tie a display to your brand colours or add sparkle under shop lighting.

How We Make Them

Flat parts are cut on our CNC router for square, accurate edges ready for bonding, or with our laser cutting services for detailed shapes, logos and slots. Exposed edges can be polished to a clear, glossy finish, which matters on any stand where the edge is in plain view. Line bending and solvent bonding are handled by our plastic fabrication team, using adhesives such as Acrifix 192 that cure clear for near-invisible joints.

For one-off plinths and short runs we can work from a sketch with dimensions. For multi-store rollouts, send a drawing or a sample and we will match it across the full quantity so every store gets identical stands.

Where Acrylic Stands and Risers Are Used

Retailers use acrylic risers to create height in window displays and on counters, so that small products are seen from across the store. Cosmetic and fragrance brands use plinths and cube risers to stage launches. Galleries, museums and event stylists use clear plinths to present objects without a visible support. Cafes and hospitality venues use bent stands for menus and table talkers. For full point-of-purchase fixtures see our point of sale displays guide, and for enclosed showcases see acrylic display cabinets.

Care and Cleaning

Dust acrylic stands with a soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth and clean with mild soapy water. Avoid paper towel, abrasive cloths and ammonia or alcohol-based glass cleaners, which can scratch or craze the surface over time.

Acrylic Display Stands, Risers & Plinths FAQ

What is the difference between an acrylic riser and an acrylic plinth?
A riser is usually a small block, cube or step that lifts a product a little above the counter or shelf. A plinth is a larger pedestal, often floor standing or table height, used to present a single object in a gallery, showroom or event space. We make both to custom sizes.
What thickness acrylic should a display stand be?
Bent stands for light items are usually 3mm to 4.5mm. Cube risers and plinths are commonly 5mm to 6mm for small sizes and 8mm to 10mm for larger ones. Heavier products and wider spans need thicker sheet, so tell us what the stand will carry and we will recommend a size.
Can you make solid acrylic block risers?
Yes. Solid risers are cut from thick cast acrylic or laminated from layers, then polished on the visible faces so they look like a solid block of glass. Tell us the size and quantity and we will confirm the best way to make them.
Do you make stepped risers for shelves?
Yes. Tiered and stepped risers that sit on existing shelving are covered on our acrylic shelf risers page. This page focuses on freestanding stands, cube risers and plinths.
Can you make matching stands for several stores?
Yes. Send a drawing or a sample and we will produce identical stands across the full quantity, cut on CNC so every piece matches.
