Frequently Asked Questions

What is corflute?
Corflute is twin-wall fluted polypropylene sheet, essentially a plastic version of corrugated cardboard. It is lightweight, rigid for its weight, waterproof, and cheap, which makes it the go-to board for signage, packaging, floor protection, and temporary hoardings.
Is corflute waterproof?
Yes. Corflute is polypropylene, which does not absorb water, rot, or delaminate. It handles rain, wet concrete, and outdoor exposure without breaking down, which is why real estate and site signs are printed on it.
What is corflute used for?
The big four are signage (real estate and site signs), surface protection (floors, benchtops, and door jambs during construction), packaging dividers, and temporary barriers or hoardings. Tree guards, pet enclosures, and craft projects round out the list.
How do you cut corflute?
A sharp utility knife against a straight edge cuts corflute easily; run the blade along the flutes for the cleanest line, or make two or three passes across them. For large quantities or shaped panels, we cut corflute to size so every sheet arrives identical.
What is corflute made of?
Extruded polypropylene formed into two flat walls connected by internal ribs (flutes). The fluted structure gives it stiffness at very low weight, typically 3mm or 5mm thick.
Is corflute recyclable?
Yes. Corflute is polypropylene (recycling code 5) and can be recycled where PP is accepted, though usually not in kerbside bins. Clean sheets can be reused many times before recycling, especially as floor protection.
How long does corflute last?
Indoors, effectively indefinitely. Outdoors, standard corflute typically gives 1 to 2 years of service before UV makes it brittle, which comfortably covers election signs, real estate boards, and site signage.
Can you paint or print on corflute?
Yes. Corflute takes screen printing and UV digital printing well, which is how signage is produced. For painting, use a plastic primer or paints made for polypropylene, as standard acrylic paint can peel off the low-energy surface.
What sizes and colours do corflute sheets come in?
Standard sheets are 2400x1200mm in 3mm and 5mm thickness, in white, black, and a range of colours. We cut corflute to any size and supply bulk packs for signage companies, printers, and builders.
Where can I buy corflute sheets?
Order corflute cut to size or by the full sheet online, with delivery Australia-wide or Gold Coast pickup. Bulk pack pricing is available for trades: the more sheets in the order, the lower the per-sheet price.
